据胶州市疫情防控指挥部消息，8月12日，胶州市在对集中隔离点进行核酸检测时，发现1例阳性感染者，经专家组诊断为新冠肺炎确诊病例（普通型），该病例系胶州市集中隔离点工作人员，8月11日因工作需要进行集中隔离，8月12日例行核酸检测初筛阳性,随即转运至定点医院隔离治疗。
胶州市位于青岛市东部，是山东半岛重要的港口城市和工业城市，人口约110万，此次疫情发生后，胶州市已启动应急响应机制，迅速开展流调溯源、核酸检测、隔离转运等工作。
